Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial equipment including Hi-Lo forklifts, Reach Trucks, and Cherry Pickers (order pickers) within a smaller-scale warehouse environment. This role supports receiving, storage, picking, and shipping functions while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate Hi-Lo (forklift), Reach Trucks, and Cherry Picker (order picker) equipment throughout all warehouse areas.
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections (OSHA-compliant) and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Load, unload, and transport pallets, racks, and bulk goods to designated storage locations.
- Use Cherry Picker to accurately pull orders from elevated racking systems.
- Operate equipment within posted speed limits and comply with all floor traffic rules.
Warehouse Operations
- Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders accurately and on time.
- Maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO) and label inventory clearly.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory as required.
- Keep aisles, staging areas, and common spaces clean and free of hazards.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a high-vis vest
- Report accidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification (Hi-Lo) or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certification or demonstrated experience operating cherry pickers / order pickers.
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience.
- Ability to read and interpret pick tickets, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipment quantities.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a small-to-mid-sized warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or barcode scanning technology.
- Knowledge of OSHA powered industrial truck standards (29 CFR 1910.178).
Physical Requirements:
Physical Activity –
- Lift / carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Stand or walk for extended periods constantly
- Work at heights (cherry picker) frequently
- Bend, stoop, and reach frequently
- Work in varying temperatures occasionally
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Shift: Monday–Friday, day shift (schedule may vary based on business needs).
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required during peak periods.
- Indoor warehouse environment; may be exposed to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
- Noise levels: moderate to loud — hearing protection may be required in designated zones.
